Cookies and external links

The growing guides and seed planner do not require a reader account. The planner does not save its inputs to cookies or local storage. Search uses a query in the page URL.

Necessary functions

Administrators receive a session cookie after signing in. It is HTTP-only, uses SameSite protection and is secure in production. It expires after 24 hours or is cleared on sign-out. Cloudflare security services may use necessary browser storage or security cookies to distinguish legitimate activity from abuse. The contact form cannot work without its security check.

Referral attribution

An active affiliate link takes you to an external merchant or network. Amazon, CJ Affiliate, MaxBounty and eBay may use cookies or similar technology to attribute a qualifying action. Their own notices apply after you follow the link. Our first-party click counter sends the placement and item key without setting a tracking cookie.

You can block or remove cookies using your browser settings. A merchant may not attribute a purchase when its cookies are blocked; this does not change the educational content available here. There are no advertising pixels or automatic merchant redirects on the current site. See privacy and shopping disclosures for related information.
